Welcome to The Rug Room

A loom is a hand-operated or power-driven apparatus for weaving fabrics, containing harnesses, lay, reed, shuttles, treadles, etc. (Dictionary.com)

This is what the loom looks like before rugs are woven on.

Our practice is done by hand. We use an Orco-70 two harness loom (aka A Union Loom). My family takes pride in our ability to upcycle unwanted fabrics and turn them into something new and useful. The style of rugs we make are called Rag Rugs. Check out our current rugs or design your own! Contact us to place an order. Questions are welcomed and encouraged!

“Parents are like shuttles on a loom. They join the threads of the past with threads of the future and leave their own bright patterns as they go.”

– Mr. Rogers
